Whether you need time to write a blog post or a book, design a course, plan your marketing or research ideas, this group will work for you. You get dedicated, focused time, a proven productivity technique, and the benefits of group support and accountability.
Shut Up & Work is a virtual group, where we meet for 90 minutes via a video conference. We spend a few minutes talking and setting a goal, then write for 25 minutes, take a 5 minute break, and do it two more times for a total of THREE writing periods.
This pattern of working for a short burst of time followed by a refreshing break comes from The Pomodoro Technique, a productivity system invented in the 1990's by Francesco Cirillo. It trains your brain to focus for short periods, increases your motivation, and keeps you creative.
The concept works well for the solopreneur, blogger, small business owner, freelancer, and digital marketer. It helps you find time to do the important work, instead of only solving the pressing issues.
The goal is to help you:
- dedicate scheduled time for your project,
- work together but quietly,
- get free of distractions,
- overcome procrastination,
- increase motivation,
- make progress.
